Since their formation at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2021, Duo Aerius are establishing themselves as an exciting and versatile new ensemble. They have already begun pushing into uncharted territory for the setting of Violin and Guitar, with unique arrangements being made by Chris Godhard, such as his adaptations of the Lark Ascending and Kreisler ‘Prealudium und Allegro’, as well as commissioning new compositions for the pairing. Their latest venture being a collaboration with the established composer, Will Frampton. The duo’s resumé includes performances at venues such as Whitworth Art Gallery, Frodsham Art Gallery, Didsbury Concert Series, Kendal Concert Series, WACIDOM Series, Enys Chamber Music Festival and the Buxton Opera House Chamber Series. Upcoming performances include concerts at the Royal Northern College of Music and Brentwood Cathedral Concert Series.

Duo Aerius are grateful to have been mentored by many exceptional coaches so far, with tutors such as Donald Grant, Craig Ogden, Benedict Holland and Catherine Yates. The Duo are excited to see what the future will hold as they try to push the musical and conceptual boundaries of what it means to be a Violin and Guitar Duo.

Chris Karwacinski currently plays a 1847 Giovanni Dollenz violin which is generously loaned to him by the RNCM.
